Butterfly Basics | Warm Pink

I am very excited to show of what I have created with new bundle that arrived yesterday - Butterfly Basics, I am loving it!

I have taken inspiration from 2 challenges for today's card:

I did my weekly visit to my favourite Challenge's; Global Design Projects "Case the Designer" is an awesome challenge as you can take inspiration from any element on the card - theme, layout, colours or stampset.  I just loved the layout and layers in Kylie Bertucci's card, and I couldn't go past Blushing Bride at StampInkPaper - so I combined both challenges for my card.

I tend to like cool pinks, so the use of Early Espresso and Gold with Blushing Bride took me away from my natural colour combos - I love where SIP took me with this challenge.

Technique & Colours:
I stamped off Early Espresso so that it wasn't overpowering the delicate Blushing Bride, and brightened the card by using Very Vanilla as a base for the lovely layers and focal sentiment from Kylie's card - I just love the layers and combination of rectangles and sentiment circle.

I double stamped the flower using a stamp-a-ma-jig as I wasn't happy with it in just Blushing Bride, I really happy with the double stamping effect.

I just couldn't resist adding the butterfly - I double cut and layered to give a little more impact with the Gold embossed sentiment, the Gold Cord Trim reminded of little swirls as the butterfly go to "send wishes your way"

I hope you have liked my card today, I love reading your comments, til next time

Flurry of Wishes | Tall and Skinny

Welcome - this is my third project for the Flurry of Wishes Bundle that I have featured this week.

I found myself with some extra time this afternoon as my daughter's Sports Day was shortened due to heat - so I took the opportunity to incorporate this card into the Mojo Monday challenge.

This worked perfectly as this card's dimensions are not your standard size, but wait that's not all that isn't standard; have a look at the inside of the card - surprise its a form of pop up card!

Technique:
I saw the card concept by CraftyCarolineCreates - I knew straight away that I wanted to hang a snowflake in the box window, I just had to give it a go.  It is a great design as it folds flat for posting too.

I used the same glitter technique as on my first card - I just love the heat and stick powder for attaching Dazzling Diamonds to my project, I added a gem and swirled some silver cord trim.

I scored around the edge of the card front instead of adding a layer of cardstock, it is a simple and effective alternative.

Colour Combo:
Bermuda Bay and Soft Sky on Whisper White

Flurry of Wishes Bundle:

Flurry of Wishes is a photopolymer stamp set with the coordinating Snow Flurry punch. The punch has the bonus of 2 for 1 - two snowflakes that come on one stamp so they are perfectly lined up every time!  The largest snowflake also pairs with the Flower Medallion punch.  There are also 3 sentiments

Flurry of Wishes | with layers

Welcome back for card two of my Flurry of Wishes feature week

No glitter today; I have used some lovely silver cording trim and a gem stone for that touch of bling!

Technique:
Today's card features Layers - it is amazing how altering the size of the layers can give a totally different look to your card!  I have also used the Snow Flurry punch today; this is the larger of the 2 snowflakes with a little gem added to the centre before popping it up on a dimensional - oh another layer!

Colour Combo:
Bermuda Bay and Soft Sky on Whisper White

Flurry of Wishes | with a touch of glitter

Welcome, I know you will probably be surprised a this isn't linked to a challenge, this is a challenge to myself - this week I will be featuring this season's snowflake bundle - Flurry of Wishes Stamp set and Snow Flurry Punch.

Here is the first card featuring the Flurry of Wishes Stamp set:

Technique:
I have stamped the snowflakes for a 2nd time with Versamark over the Soft Sky snowflakes and sprinkled with Heat & Stick power, heat embossed til the powder changed to clear, then quickly sprinkled on Dazzling Diamonds and then re-heated to set the glitter - I just love this effect, it looks a bit like 3D, here's a close up

Colour Combo:
Bermuda Bay and Soft Sky on Whisper White

Happy Hearts - Anniversary Card | FMS209

My creation today is a little different to what I have been doing lately:

My card is predominately just Whisper White!

I watched a Brian King tutorial last night - I loved the layout of his card, so I gave the measurements a try with today's card; and as this is for a Silver Wedding Anniversary the fine layers just had to be silver and this weeks challenge at Freshly Made Sketches was just perfect for this card:

Glimmer paper wasn't giving me the look I was wanting, so I have heat embossed the edge of 2 of the layers using Versamark and silver embossing powder, then attached the next layer of Whisper White to give the lovely silver edging on each layer.

The 2nd layer has been embossed using the Happy Hearts TIEF - gives added texture without being overpowering.  I edged the champagne glasses with Dazzling Diamonds, cut the banner using the Triple Banner punch, added some silver cording and used an disclosed number of dimensionals to mount all anniversary elements!

I hope you have enjoyed my creation today, as always I love reading you wonderful comments, til next time,

Hardwood Farm - #GDP007

Hello everyone, where has the week gone? Welcome to this weeks Global Design Project, here is where inspiration took me:

At first I was stumped at what I could create for:

I don't have any farm themed stamps, so I started thinking punch art.... I scrolled through the Design Teams creations, saw Jessica's Barn and yes I had the full idea in my head..... now the problem of how to make a punch art chicken!

I found some amazing inspiration on Pinterest for punch art animals, after many attempts and variations I was finally happy with my chicken!

Her base is created using the Owl Punch, I used DSP that resembled feathers, and cut the heart to make the tail and beak.  A small flower punch for her neck ruffle and a leaf punch for her the top of her head!

The little chicks are made from using the eyes, feet and heart of the Owl punch too!

The barn is cut using the Baker's Box thinlit die and used the awesome Hardwood stamp punch for the Barn walls using Early Espresso on Cherry Cobbler - I love how this colour combo turned out.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my creation; I love reading your wonderful positive comments, til next time,

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop October 2015 - Fun Folds

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for October. This month we are excited to show off some amazing fun folds. We hope you find great inspiration from our projects.

I love Fun Folds - don't be put off by thinking that they are difficult, a lot of the styles are quite simple and give lots of "bang" with not much effort at all.

This is an example of a Centre Step Card - 2 cuts and 4 folds is all it takes!

I thought a step card would be perfect to showcase the lovely trees from the Wonderland Stamp set in the centre of the "step".

I added texture by placing the top of the stamped image in the Softly falling TIEF, using the area that only has minimal snowfall.  the image still looked plain compared to the rest of the card, so I added some gold embossing to the trees.

I also decorated the inside of the card by embossing another of the stamps and placing in opposite corners to bring all the elements of the card together.

Note to self:  I mistakenly purchased the Winter Wonderland Vellum stack instead of the DSP, so I have cut the Vellum and glued to cardstock for the side panels of the card - it worked!

Now this card looks like a normal card using the Wonderous Wreath Bundle.......

Until you open it!

How adorable is the variation of an Easel Card, but wait there is more.....

Notice the window is now lit up - that's right, you can pop a battery or rechargeable tea light behind the image (which is why I made the window), I found battery lights at BigW & Ikea, and then found some very reasonably priced rechargeable lights at Bunnings; below are some close ups of this card

This Easel Card is your basic card with a diagonal line scored for the twist instead of the straight line; I found fantastic instructions here.  The hardest thing for me was the bows (I am bow challenged, I can't explain it!).

You may just be starting the Blog Hop here at MissPinksCraftSpot-Sue Vine or may have come from the person previous to me in the list - if you get off track at any time the full line up below will help you to move along from blog to blog to see all the projects.

Pretty Petals - #GDP006

Back to work after holidays this week - I have been exhausted,I can't believe that it is almost a week since I have posted!  Definitely time for some crafting this weekend, I've turned to the Global Design Project team to get me started, here is my card:

This weeks challenge was provided by this sketch, be sure to check out the Design Teams take on the sketch, just click on the image:

I found it hard to get going after having a bit of a break, but after a bit of pondering I decided to go with Pretty Petals DSP, then spent some more time deciding which of the lovely designs to use - I went with something a bit different for me (not pink). Old Olive and Pacific Point on Very Vanilla, it is a lovely combination - I scored the Pacific Point card stock to match the design in the DSP and added some little gems to give it something a little more. The sentiment is from Cottage Greetings.

Thanks for visiting today, remember, I love reading you positive comments :)

Punch Art Moose with Merry Monday

I have had the amazing honour of being ask to be a guest designer this week with the team from Merry Monday!  Here is my card:

Below is Nina's theme for this weeks challenge:

I don't have a moose stamp, so I thought I would give punch art a try, or a variation of punch art as I also used framelits:

The moose head, antlers and eyes are made from framelits in the Snow Friends set, I also used an oval die to round the bottom edge of the antlers. The end of the candy cane was used for the white of the eyes and the holly framelit for the tuft of hair.

I used the Tree builder punch for the nostrils and tongue, and the small circle from the Owl punch for the eye balls.

Sequins attached to Cording trim make up the Christmas lights that my poor Moose is tangled in!

The sentiment is from Peaceful Pines.

Thank you for stopping by today, and for your wonderful encouraging comments, til next time,
